ArroZeria BGC: a haven for Paella and/or rice lovers

Ever since ArroZeria opened in Century City Mall, we had been wanting to try it. We just never put our desire into action with plenty of choices in Hole-in-the-Wall and having no craving with paella. However, upon the recommendation of our foodie friend and having tasted a delicious Paella from Balay Dako restaurant, we gave it a try at its new location in Bonifacio High Street Central.

Interior & Ambiance

ArroZeria BGC

Upon entering the doors, we were welcomed by an interior that is a cross between rustic grungy and industrial for us. The edgy modern decor added stylishness and warmth in the classic space.

The lively atmosphere is great for reuniting and/or hanging out with friends at nighttime. We saw a lot of group of friends during our visit.

Food

Most of the servings were good for groups. And since it was just the two of us dining, we only got to try one dish. We decided to go for one of ArroZerria’s three specials, the MELOSO, PhP 790 (or 15.91 USD). Its texture was similar to risotto, but it was really saucy. Loaded with marinated pork, porcini mushrooms, red bell peppers, carrots, and broccolis, each spoonful has a delicious earthy flavor.

We had difficulty in finishing our order even if we were ravenous. It was because their serving was really generous. Me-An got to take home the leftover and enjoyed eating it after reheating it.

ArroZeria is Reasonable

We can’t comment on the authenticity of their food since we still hadn’t been to Spain yet. However, based on the quality and the serving of what we had tried, we deem ArroZeria BGC as reasonable for groups of people. ArroZeria is also highly recommended for both rice and Paella lovers as they offer a variety of Paella dishes. One also has the choice for the consistency of the paella which can either be al dente and thin, or soft and wet. That alone gives us plenty of reasons to return.

P.S. We’ll update this blog post in the future.

  1. The place looks quite modern and comfortable. I can see that, the dish you ordered had a great texture and a yummylicious look. I bet I would have loved have a vegetarian version of it. Was it spicy?

  2. I’m very much a rice person. So I think I’d like this place. That said, I’m a veggie as well. Are there some vegetarian options in the menu?
Yes, the interiors look industrial and a bit on the grungy side as you say.

  3. Huge serving for two people. Looks to me this is good for groups of six to eight people, no? That way, everyone can share the paella. How about their other dishes? Too bad you were not able to try, but were they huge servings too?

  4. I definitely love the masculine look of the place, very hip. For the ambiance alone I’m already convinced to give it a visit. I also like paella, my favorite version so far is from Toni and Sergio. Does Arrozeria have black in paella? That’s my favorite type of paella actually.

  5. The place looks modern and comfy. I am traveling to Manila next month so hopefully I can visit this place. I love risottos and I would certainly love paella. I can’t wait to be able to dine here.

  6. You know, I don’t think I have ever had paella in a restaurant. I like that you can share the dish as that makes it the perfect sort of thing for a date. I am a big fan of rice and love that there is so much and I bet it is really flavoursome too! I can almost taste it just from looking at your photos..

I love the restaurant’s interior, so cozy and inviting! We haven’t been to BGC in a while, and this post gave me a reason to convince hubby to take us (son and me) there. He is a certified paella lover, you see. I wonder if Arrozeria serves squid ink paella.

  8. Great food choice for paella lovers! It’s something reminiscent of my grandma’s cooking. I know a lot of people who have certain affinity in Paella, and I’m sure Arrozeria in BGC will be a good choice for them. No need to go home to the province just to have it 🙂
