It hasn’t been that long since Tokyo Tokyo released their Wagyu Burgers and now they’re at it again with the new Sriracha Donburi.
For only PHP 155 (or USD 3.09), you get to have a huge filling bowl. The donburi has onion rings, nitamago egg, tempura crumbs and my favorite beef misono placed over Sriracha flavored rice. Sriracha mayonnaise is drizzled on top. Chopped green onions are added as garnish.
The crunchiness of the onion rings and the tenderness of the savory beef strips pair well together. They add the needed filling for the rice. Meanwhile, the tempura crumbs add a layer of texture to the dish.
We’re not fans of their nitamago egg as it seems like a plain hard boiled egg for us. It lacks the necessary flavor. However, we’re sure others will appreciate more.
Finally, the sriracha mayonnaise adds both creaminess and the heat that will surely spice up one’s summer. Each spoonful of the donburi is filled with fiery goodness.
The serving size, to be honest, is quite big that we found ourselves with really big tummies afterwards. But, just in case you want a bento meal, just add PHP 60 (or USD 1.2).
It comes with miso soup, regular red iced tea, and your choice of their jelly desserts. Jelly dessert flavors to choose from are coffee jelly, almond jelly, and mango jelly.
We don’t know for how long it will be offered. So, go ahead! Drop by the nearest Tokyo Tokyo branch to try the Sriracha Donburi we highly recommend.
